I don't know any guy that doesn't love watching The Three Stooges. Larry, Moe, and Curley (and even Shemp) are universal in their guy appeal.
CEO's and construction workers, teens and octogenarians, Ivy league and bush league---we all can't get enough of Moe pulling out tufts of Larry's hair or breaking a shovel over Curley's head.
It's just funny. Every time.
So it was with great excitement that I learned MGM is planning a Three Stooges Movie for a fall release. You can read more about it here. Other than Jim Carrey, I like the choices.

I love the Stooges, but I don't know man...the casting sounds problematic all around...
I disagree. All of those actors are extremely talented and I think they will all be able to pull it off--even Carrey. My problem with Carrey is that it is hard for me to imagine him ever looking anything like Curley--even with the rumored 40 lbs he is supposed to be packing on.
The other two sound great. Penn with his squinty eyes ought to make a fine Larry (pun intended). And Benecio (sp?) has the potential for a great head of Moe-like hair and, of course, beautiful bags under his eyes.
Plus, you have to like the Farrelly brothers at the helm--stooges in their own right.
We'll see...
