I don't know that I am all that great a commentator on "today's hot topics," as the link from our website says, so I don't know if there will be a lot of that in this space. Now, I'm sure that I'll occasionally have something to say about what's going on in the world, but don't look for regular posts.
Instead, I think I'm going to mostly share excerpts from my journal. Being a pastor is such a strange occupation for me. By that, I mean that I consider myself just a normal guy; a sinner like everyone else who happens to work on Sunday mornings. I think that sharing my own spiritual life (struggles, insights, etc.) will be helpful in removing that sometimes invisible barrier between the ones in the pews and the ones in the pulpit.
One warning: I am nothing if not honest (at least I seek to be). So the full gamut of emotions will likely be covered. It is my hope that this honest expression will give others permission to be "real" as they continue their own journey of faith.
