The Story

One of the programs I like to catch on NPR is called The Story. Host Dick Gordon talks with various individuals from all walks and goes in-depth on some "story" from their life.

On the way home from running errands tonight I heard a story from the life of Ruben Appelman and was completely engrossed--so much so that I sat in my car for a good 10 minutes when I got home just so I could hear the ending.

Stories are so powerful and we all have them. I think we learn a lot about ourselves and gain in empathy from listening to others' stories. You can listen to Ruben's here and you can also podcast The Story.

I wish I was better at both listening to the stories of others and also telling my own.
