Cleanse - Day 5

The wife hooked me up today. I was getting a bit tired of chicken stir fried up with various veggies--there just wasn't much taste. Normally I'd throw some teriyaki sauce or something in there, but it's off limits. Jen could tell I was not too inspired and broke out some soy sauce, garlic, paprika, and suggested I add some pepper. Delicious! Nice work, wife.

I think I'm starting to get into a rhythm with this now. I can chug the sludge morning and night with hardly a grimace and I'm making food choices almost unconsciously based on what I know I can and can't have. Still, it's difficult to think that I still need to go 25 more days without tacos or chocolate chip cookies or a tall cold one.

I have to say that honey helps. I had some with oatmeal this morning, on my wheat bagel this evening, and stirred some into my tea. It's amazing what a little bit of sweetness will do for one's morale. Mary Poppins was right.
